SUMMARY:13th Annual 5K Walk/Run for Literacy
DESCRIPTION:         Join us for this family-friendly race sponsored by Village Books and Fairhaven Runners!  Participants will enjoy a combination road-trail course\, with slight grades and beautiful scenery. The race will feature age-group awards and door prizes. There will also be a free Kids’ ½-Mile Fun Run at 8:45 am before the 5K\, beginning on the  Village Green.  Every child in the 1/2 mile race will receive a coupon for a free ice cream cone!  Register online at getmeregistered.com or pick up race registration forms at Fairhaven Runners or Village Books.  $10 for an individual or $20 for a family.  You can also register on race day beginning at 8am.  Race day registration is $15 for an individual and $25 for a family.    All proceeds from this 5K event will benefit the Whatcom Literacy Council. Last year\, the event raised over $2000 for the organization.    After the race\, there will be live music\, good company\, good food\, awards and a drawing for random prizes\, all on the Village Green. This 13th annual race also marks the celebration of Village Books’ 32nd anniversary\, Fairhaven Runners and Walkers’ 13th anniversary and Whatcom Literacy Council’s 34th anniversary.

DESCRIPTION:  Join us for this fun and family friendly event!  Each year more than 25 teams sponsored by local businesses and organizations battle it out to see who will be Whatcom County's newest Trivia champion.  Dave Walker from KAFE radio will be our Master of Ceremonies\, and Jeopardy! champ Ken Jennings will join us again this year.  Tickets will be available at Village Books beginning on April 1.  Tickets will also be available at the door.    This is a truly 'fun' fundraiser!
